Rose- Split Personality
When it comes to wines, there are reds and whites, which was fairly black and white until the Rose arrived on the scene. This mix between the two, neither truly red nor pure white shakes the wine world to its very core. The standard pairing rules belonging to reds and whites no longer apply, and what is left is a delightfully sweet concoction that pairs well with most anything from steak to dessert. No need to ponder which wine to have based on the colour of the pasta sauce, simply choose a Rose and know it will be fantastic.
This seemingly mistake of the wine world has made its mark despite its questionable and somewhat mysterious origins. One story tells it that a winemaker inadvertently left the grape skins in the juice when making white wine. Working quickly to correct the error, the juice was already stained pink and the result was a pink coloured beverage with the same texture as a white, known today as a Rose. Today purposely leaving the skins with the juice just long enough to gain the Rose coloured hue but not long enough to get a red wine is one way this delectable nectar is made. It can also be created by fermenting the by-product bled off of a red wine in the concentration process. Either way, the result is the perfect wine to send as a gift, and with several options to choose from as well as the ability to choose the delivery date and time, it could not be easier.
